Meet MonQuetta Hawkins-Walton

My name is MonQuetta Hawkins-Walton

although I prefer to be addressed as Hawkins. I am a recent graduate from the esteemed George Williams School of Social Work. During my internship at the Foundations Center, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in transformative work as a counselor and group facilitator, focusing on domestic partner abuse, anger management, and substance abuse. I have also gained substantial experience in the educational sector. Completing my Master's internship, as a School Social Worker at RPS 205, emphasizing support for students within special education at the elementary level. Currently, I contribute as a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Facilitator at RPS 205 High School, equipping young minds with emotional resilience. My dedication to social work extends beyond the classroom, as I also serve as an SEL Coach at Rockford Barbell.

With over a decade of prior experience in healthcare, specializing in Alzheimer's, dementia, and behavioral health, I bring a profound empathy to my practice, particularly towards children. I hold a deep belief in the power of family, union, and solidarity. My approach to therapy emphasizes holistic healing, recognizing that nurturing the spirit can lead to the healing of both the mind and body. I am drawn to the words, "Life is not what you go through, but what you get through. Sharing your story is how you pay it forward." In my view, sharing one's narrative is a cornerstone of healing and empowerment, allowing individuals to connect and grow from their experiences. I endeavor to support children aged 10-18, adults, and couples.
